DIY retailer hires first in-house lawyer

Focus Do It All, the UK's largest independent DIY retailer, has announced the appointment of its first company solicitor Liz Delgado.

Former Eversheds trainee Delgado joins from Capital Bank in Chester where she was a commercial solicitor, after working for a year for The Mersey Television Company.

At Focus Do It All, Delgado will also be dealing primarily with commercial property work.

She says: "I had always wanted to move into industry, particularly for the increased responsibility and decision-making.

"I chose to join Focus Do It All because it was an opportunity to be the first and sole in-house lawyer at a growing and innovative company. I am looking forward to creating the legal function from scratch."

When asked if she is any good at DIY, she replies: "No, it is something I currently outsource."
