Gloucester City Council is to take the Secretary of State for the Environment to the High Court in a dispute over the city's local plan. The council has just been granted leave by Mr Justice Sullivan to seek judicial review of a direction issued by the Environment Secretary requiring the council to consider modifying policies laid down in the deposit draft version of the City of Gloucester (additional Areas post-1991 Boundary Extension) Local Plan. No date has yet been fixed for the hearing. At leave stage the council was represented by John Pughe-Smith.
