Dishing the dirt

It might be the richest firm in New York, but Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz may want to think about getting the pest control chaps in.

Tulkinghorn was leaving the firm’s 52nd Street offices the other day when he spottted an unidentified species of beetle making its gentle way across the building’s lobby. Being in a generous mood, Tulkinghorn will give the $3m (£1.7m)-plus profit per partner firm the benefit of the doubt. It was President’s Day after all, a holiday in the US, so it would be churlish to point out the odd hygiene deficiency when Wachtell was still working. It was just the cleaners who weren’t.
