Northampton-based Tollers’ turnover has declined steadily since 2007-08, dropping from £11.5m down to £8.6m.
The firm, which also has offices in Milton Keynes, Corby and Kettering, has seen a steady rise in litigation work, particularly banking and commercial property matters. Litigation is now the firm’s biggest earner, accounting for 66.5 per cent of revenue.
The property department, which houses three of its 19-strong partnership, accounted for 15.6 per cent of revenue.
Clients include Badminton England, Lafarge Aggregates, Yamaha and Whitworths Holdings. It operates a lockstep remuneration system and average work-in-progress was 312 days at the year-end with a lockup target of 350.
