For a firm that gave itself the ambitious target as recently as 2008 of trebling turnover in
five years, Michelmores’ flat 2009-10 looks like a setback.
But with its emphasis on M&A and construction, posting flat figures in last
year’s economic climate can be seen as a success.
Since 2006-07 revenue has increased by almost 40 per cent, from £13.5m to its current £18.8m. The firm is still targeting a £50m turnover by 2013.
Consequently, Michelmores is still in expansion mode, adding four partners to bring its total to 41. Of those, 13 are equity partners, although managing partner Malcolm Dickinson says the ratio of equity to salaried partners is likely to narrow in the coming years.
