Mayo Wynne Baxter’s comprehensive coverage of Sussex, with five offices across the county, derives from the 2007 merger between Brighton’s Wynne Baxter and Eastbourne’s Mayo Perkins.
Turnover was down by 4 per cent on last year’s at £8.8m.
Although the firm is traditionally strong in property, its bottom line has not suffered too much in the recession, thanks mainly to the pick-up in contentious work.
The firm has shored up in other areas too, with partner hires from ASB Law boosting its travel and family practices.
Mayo Wynne Baxter has also prospered by tending to the burgeoning media and creative companies clustered around Brighton.
