Turnover nudged up by 2 per cent at Edinburgh firm Lindsays last year, from £11.4m to £11.6m. The firm has a private client bias, but also focuses on employment and charities. Since its 2007 merger with Borders firm Turnbull Simson & Sturrock, Lindsays has also become known for agricultural and rural matters.
During the year Lindsays offloaded its investment management division, which had around 250 clients and £70m in assets under management, to private bank Brown Shipley. Investment managers Paul Embleton and Gail Craig moved across as part of the deal, which was struck in order to allow Lindsays to focus on providing legal services.
More recently Lindsays hired Brodies corporate partner Jamie Millar, who has since become president of the Law Society of Scotland.
