Bournemouth-based Lester Aldridge has seen its turnover decline steadily since 2006-07, dropping by 15.8 per cent to £14.3m. In the 2009-10 financial year alone it fell by £2.3m. The firm did, however, post an increase in profit, from £2.58m to £4.05m last year, while average profit per equity partner rose by 9.6 per cent to £148,000.
Lester Aldridge, which also has offices in London and Southampton, has seen a steady rise in litigation work, particularly banking and property matters. Litigation is now the firm’s biggest earner, accounting for 32 per cent of revenue.
In recent years the firm has increasingly advised banks on distressed property matters, while private client remain a key area. Its work with high-net-worth individuals accounted for 31 per cent of turnover in 2009-10.
