Lincoln-headquartered Langleys saw turnover jump from £14.4m in 2008-09 to £15.7m in 2009-10. This is back to a similar level of turnover the firm experienced in the financial year 2007-08, when it achieved £15.6m in gross fees.
Since 2007-08, however, the total number of staff has shrunk from 320 to 295.
Langleys is unusual for a firm of its size because of the mix of company commercial, insurance and private high street work it undertakes. Founded in Lincoln in 1890, the firm was largely a traditional high street practice until the mid-1980s, when it developed a niche market in defendant insurance claims work.
In addition, the firm has clients in the commercial hubs of both Leeds and Nottingham and their surrounding regions.
