London technology boutique Kemp Little, which counts Expedia, Thomson Reuters and BMI British Midland among its clients, saw its turnover dip slightly last year, from £7.1m to £6.8m. Its profit margin held up, however, at 32 per cent, generating an average of £315,000 for the eight equity partners on its modified lockstep (up from six the year before).
The tightly run firm’s lockup was just 87 at year-end, 12 behind its target of 75 days, but a day fewer than 2008-09’s 88.
Kemp Little’s finances were helped by its sharp sector focus. As senior partner Richard Kemp puts it, the firm does not do property, finance or private equity.
