Boutique insurance practice Greenwoods has seen significant growth over the past five years. In 2004-05 it was a £6.5m, 11-partner firm in a single London office. By the close of the 2009-10 financial year the firm, which provides legal services solely to insurers, self-insuring bodies and others involved in claims resolution, including a significant defendant personal injury team, had opened offices in Milton Keynes, Bristol and Manchester, plus a second in the capital.
Revenue has grown in line with geography, up by 145 per cent over the period to £15.9m last year, while partner numbers swelled to 21. Among the more recent arrivals was liability specialist Philip Tracey in 2009 from Beachcroft.
