Ellisons Solicitors’ 2009 merger with Colchester firm Marshall Legal helped to boost the Essex-based practice’s revenue and profile last year.
Commercial property has constantly been an important practice area for the firm over the past five years, with private client and agricultural work also generating a high percentage of revenue. The firm’s insurance litigation practice has been expanding significantly and incorporates work for large Lloyd’s of London syndicates.
Having dealt with a number of high-value transactions over the year, including a management buyout for the seller of Knight Group, the firm saw revenue rise to £6.4m from 2008-09’s £5.8m.
