Debenhams Ottaway makes its debut into the UK 200 this year with a turnover of £6.5m. The Hertfordshire firm is the product of many mergers, the most recent being that between Turner & Debenhams and Ottaways in September 2008.
Private client and property, which respectively contributed 30 and 25 per cent of the firm’s turnover last year, are its core practice areas. Dispute resolution was also another well-performing department, generating 15 per cent of turnover, while pharmaceutical regulation is another practice area the firm is planning to grow after securing the National Pharmacy Association as a client.
The 13-partner firm also counts National Grid and United Utilities as clients.
