Reading’s Blandy & Blandy used to handle mostly private client work, but has recently diversified. It now has large practices in the charity, planning and environment sectors, which the firm is looking to expand further following a 20 per cent boost in revenue from these practices over the past year.
Turnover was £6.1m, up by 4 per cent on 2008-09’s figure. Net profit was up by 14 per cent to £1.9m. Family and private client also contributed to the improve-ment in the firm’s fortunes, as did the employment team. Elsewhere, the corporate and commercial finance teams performed well, with the latter up by 22 per cent on its understandably muted 2008-09 result.
