Edinburgh-headquartered Anderson Strathern saw revenue slide by 5 per cent, from £20.8m the previous year to £19.7m in 2009-10. In 2007-08 the firm’s revenue had hit a high of £21.5m.
The Scottish firm suffered as a result of its ongoing exposure to the property market, where a third of its practice is weighted. But during the past financial year it looked to diversify its practice mix, strengthening its private client department with the hire of Tods Murray partners John Biggar and John Fulton.
Anderson Strathern also launched an advocacy unit led by newly promoted partner Chris Dickson and elected a new managing partner, disputes lawyer Andy Lothian, who replaced Robin Stimpson. The firm also launched an office in Aberdeen.
