A spokesperson for the company said no other hires are expected to follow Wei’s appointment in the near future, with Wei joining as the first in-house counsel in China.
Darin Bassin, executive vice president and general counsel for CBS Interactive, said in a statement: “China is an important and fast-growing business for us, and Daisy will be a tremendous resource in helping the international group optimise business opportunities in China.”
Evercore, Skadden and Shearman & Sterling are all understood to be on the panel of CBS Corp but a spokesperson for the company had not responded to requests for comment at the time of writing. The company’s general counsel is Louis Briskman.
