Mayer Brown & Platt head of central Asia and projects partner Nabil Khodadad is quitting for Chadbourne & Park. Khodadad is taking two senior associates with him, along with several local lawyers from Kyrgyzstan and Tashkent in Uzbekistan. The move will dramatically affect Mayer Brown's CIS coverage - its Moscow office was shut down just over a year ago. It is understood that one of the reasons Khodadad has left for Chadbourne & Park's London office is that it divides partner profits in the projects group on a team, as opposed to partner, basis. He is also understood to have preferred Chadbourne & Park's international practice and cross-border expansion plans.
