Dewey Euro board gets second seat

Dewey Ballantine is expanding its management committee in a move that will see the firm add a second European seat.
The New York firm’s current management committee numbers 13, but it is expected that by August it will add two more seats for a Europe and a West Coast partner. The decision reflects the progress the firm has made in both regions.
Last year Dewey scored a coup by taking on 11 intellectual property partners from Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, including highly-rated partner Jim Elacqua, which collapsed in February. The move substantially bolstered its West Coast presence.
In Europe, the firm scooped a five-partner team from Hunton & Williams, adding to London and particularly Warsaw, where it now has more than 50 lawyers.
Both seats on the management committee are elected positions.
