Dewey bags bp land sale to urban village

Dewey & LeBoeuf has represented oil giant BP on the sale of a 1,000-acre oil refinery site for a regeneration project.

The Llandarcy refinery site in Wales will be turned into Coed Darcy urban village, a development by St Modwen designed to standards overseen by the Prince's Foundation, which promotes the return of human values to architecture.

The phased development of the urban village is expected to be completed by 2020. The Dewey team was led by head of European real estate Graham Prentice.

The work involved environmental, real estate, planning, construction, corporate, employment, competition and tax advice. St Modwen was advised by Wragge & Co partner Peter Thorne.

The Prince's Foundation turned to Darwin Gray partner Alison Ivin. Remediation and development was overseen by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, under advice from Geldards partner Huw Williams.
