Deutsche Telekom turns to Ashurst for hire of legal chief

According to German legal website Juve Claudia Junker, a corporate partner in Frankfurt, will replace AxelLützner in the Deutsche Telekom role. Lützner has held the position since 2008.

“Claudia’s departure is much to our regret,” said Reinhard Eyring, head of Germany and the German corporate group at Ashurst. “We’re holding her very high due to her professional competence, her outstanding work and her personal qualities. We’ll close the gap promptly and are planning to further expand our very successful corporate practice.”

Junker joined Ashurst as an equity partner in 2008. Before that she was a counsel at Hengeler Mueller.

“Ashurst is an outstanding firm in which I’ve spent very successful years,” said Junker. “My colleagues aren’t only colleagues but friends and I’ll stay in amicable contact with the firm. Leaving is not easy for me.

“The position of the general counsel of Deutsche Telekom is an exciting new challenge and additional tasks are waiting for me. I’ve been advising Deutsche Telekom in the past and I’m very much looking forward to the new function.”
