Eversheds in Birmingham has closed its private client trust and probate department in order to concentrate on commercial and corporate work.
Keith Dudley, former senior associate, who ran the department, together with two executives and their secretaries, have joined Martineau Johnson's private client department.
Hugh Carslake, head of Martineau Johnson's private client department, said the restructure would offer the firm opportunities for increased specialisation.
The move is part of a drive to concentrate on commercial work in Eversheds' Birmingham office and follows the closure of its matrimonial depart- ment last April.
Sue Green, deputy managing partner of the Birmingham office, said: "We have worked together on Keith's move and wish him every success in his new role. We wish to concentrate on business law as a culmination of significant expansion in our core corporate, property, litigation, employment/pensions and commercial departments."
Dudley said: "I am delighted to be joining Martineau Johnson and so are my colleagues."
