The former head of legal at technology and engineering company GKN has been appointed to the Competition Commission’s strategic management board.
Grey Denham, who was company secretary and group director of legal and compliance at GKN, where he worked for 28 years, has been appointed to the commission’s council for a four-year term. He takes up the role on 1 September.
Peter Freeman, chairman of the Competition Commission, said Denham’s experience will be “invaluable in providing an outside perspective on our work and future direction”.
Denham, who is a qualified barrister, is also a senior independent director of Charter International and a director and trustee of the charity Young Enterprise.
He retired from GKN earlier this year and has been replaced as company secretary by Judith Felton, who had been deputy company secretary since 1995.
