Dentons to defer trainees

Dentons, which hires around 50 trainees in the spring and autumn, is seeking to defer the start date of between 5 and 10 per cent of the trainees from the spring intake. The option to defer is being offered on a strictly ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

A Dentons spokesperson said the firm is reducing numbers because, due to the global downturn, there is not enough work to keep trainees occupied, which is detrimental to their development.

The firm has not yet finalised the package it will offer to the trainees, but the spokesperson said that Dentons is, however, aware of the payments other firms have offered.
