Denton Wilde Sapte has promoted two lawyers to its partnership, down from six last year.

The two new partners are both based overseas and join the Oman and Kazakhstan offices. One is female.

Chief executive Howard Morris said: “Our new partners are both based in our international offices, and this is a reflection of the sustained levels of growth we’ve seen and are supporting in the Middle East and Central Asia.

“It’s also no coincidence that they’re both energy lawyers, as we expect this sector to grow significantly in the future.”

The firm’s Kazakhstan office was among the winners in the firm’s round of promotions last year, in which a total of six were made up (28 April 2009).

Macfarlanes and Watson Farley & Williams (27 April 2010) have both announced promotions today, promoting one and two respectively.

The new Dentons partners are:

Muscat

Ian McGrath, energy and infrastructure

Almaty

Victoria Simonova, overseas partner, energy and infrastructure
