Dentons’ Blakeley steps down from management

Denton Wilde Sapte deputy chief executive Steven Blakeley has stood down from his management position to return to full time fee-earning.

Blakeley will now take a three-month sabbatical before returning to the corporate department.

No replacement has been chosen, although chief executive Virginia Glastonbury said she envisaged the post being filled at a later date. The role may change slightly, depending on how work is shared between the four new sector heads who were appointed as part of a strategic review.

“Nine years is long enough,” said Blakeley when asked why he had decided to step down. He was formerly managing partner at Wilde Sapte before it merged with Denton Hall. He said he would not be involved in any sort of management work within the corporate group.
