Denton Wilde Sapte won a ‘Midnight Rugby’ tournament held in Helsinki this weekend, beating a rival team from CMS Cameron McKenna in the final match.
As reported last week, the two teams were among a total of 24 part-time and club teams from across Europe competing for the Baltic Plate Trophy in Finland, which has the latest sunsets in Europe in Summmer (The Lawyer, 27 June).
Organiser Andrew Cotton, a partner at Finnish firm Procope and Hornborg said:
“Camerons raced ahead to a 17-0 lead but in the second half, DWS scored five unanswered tries to run out winners by 27-17.
“All in all it was an excellent tournament and we look forward to next year's event.”
The event took was followed by traditional celebrations including a trip to an island and a sauna.
