CITY firm Denton Hall will next week open an office in Dubai.
Michael Doble, managing partner for Denton Hall's Middle East practice, says: “It is extremely exciting for us to have been granted the first of what we hope, and expect, will be three licences.”
“The focus of work continues to be energy, telecoms and banking, with a developing privatisation sector. We are looking to recruit lawyers with the right expertise and background in those practice areas to join the partners in the team.”
The department will have eight lawyers – three of them partners. John Riddick and Paul Holland are currently based in Dubai, while Martin Kitchen will join the team from the firm's London office.
Last October, Denton Hall acquired Fox & Gibbons' 42-lawyer Middle East practice, which includes offices in Cairo and Turkey.
The firm has applied for licences to take on Fox & Gibbons' remaining offices in Abu Dhabi and Oman in the near future, providing licences to practise are granted.
