Deloitte tax partner returns to the bar

Deloitte tax partner Philip Ridgway has returned to the bar, joining Temple Tax Chambers.

Ridgway is leaving Deloitte after more than a decade to build his corporate and personal tax practice and to offer clients a "taxation in insolvency" specialism at the tax chambers.

Ridgway, who was called to the bar in 1986, decided that he wanted to take a back seat from management and concentrate on practising law.

Ridgway initially left the bar to join law firm Paisner & Co (now Berwin Leighton Paisner), but he now feels the bar is the best place for him to follow this ambition.

The news comes just weeks after Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton associate Robert O'Donoghue left to return to the bar, as reported on www.thelawyer.com (6 June). O'Donoghue joined Brick Court Chambers.
