The legal status of 'stints' or 'cattlegates' is to be defined by the Law Lords. Judgment is now pending in the case of Bracken Bank Lodge (BBL) v Peart and others. The Lords have been asked to rule on whether conveyance of a 'stint' or 'cattlegate' can confer a corporeal right to a share in the land or only an incorporeal right to graze.
