The head of legal at Invesco Perpetual is leaving the fund management house to join Dechert’s fledgling Dublin office.

Michelle Moran joined Invesco in 2002 and headed the legal team in the UK and Ireland, where she was responsible for an overhaul of the company’s in-house function.

Dechert’s Dublin office was launched last month with the arrival of William Fry funds partner Declan O’Sullivan and three associates. It focuses on advising investment funds and investment managers.

O’Sullivan said: “She [Moran] has tremendous experience in the institutional marketplace across all asset classes, having had responsibility for the Invesco platforms in Dublin, Luxembourg and the UK.

“Her decision to join Dechert emphasises that we’re the only firm that can offer a first-class full service for financial services clients both geographically across the EU, the US and Asia, and for all aspects of business, especially on corporate and tax matters.”

Moran added: “I’ve been fortunate to be part of a company such as Invesco for a long period of time and have learned a great deal from highly talented individuals there.

“Now I feel that the time’s right to take up new challenges and opportunities presented by a move back to private practice, to a firm as highly regarded as Dechert.”

Invesco did not return calls for comment.
