Deborah Gordon Brown is a partner in the commercial property team, with specific focus on the investment and retail leisure sectors.
She acts for some of the firm’s major clients in these sectors, including the Highcross Group of Companies, WH Smith, Gala Coral and Thomas Cook. She advises the clients in relation to the acquisition of high-value investment portfolios, as well as development, funding, acquisition, disposal and portfolio management issues.
Gordon Brown’s most recent experiences include acting for the Gala Coral Group in its recent re-financing and internal sale and leaseback project with a value of approximately £500m and the acquisition of a number of investment properties for the Highcross Group with a value in excess of £100m.
Having completed her Law LLB at the University of Kingstone Upon Hull, Gordon Brown went on to complete her LPC at the College of Law, Lancaster Gate, before undertaking her training contract at Lovells. Upon qualification in 1989, she stayed with the firm as a solicitor until joining Shoosmiths in 1995, where she became a partner in 1999. Gordon Brown is acknowledged as being ‘excellent’ in her field by the Legal 500.
