Debevoise lures Baker & McKenzie partner for European private equity drive

The London office of Debevoise & Plimpton has poached Baker & McKenzie’s London head of financial services and investment funds, Marwan Al-Turki.
Al-Turki, who joined the firm in 1997 to set up the practice area, will head Debevoise’s European private equity funds group.
Al-Turki’s departure has caused a split in the group that he leaves behind. The remaining investment funds lawyers will be transferred to Tom Philipp’s corporate group while partner Arun Srivastava will head a financial services group.
