Debevoise & Plimpton has broadened its European capability by hiring Italian lawyer Giancarlo Capolino Perlingieri as international counsel
Capolino Perlingieri has joined the US firm's London office, boosting its ability to service clients doing Italian M&A and capital markets transactions. Capolino Perlingieri has joined Debevoise from US firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where he worked in its Rome, Paris and Brussels offices. Italy has been a growth market for Debevoise. The firm has worked on a number of deals, including the joint venture between Prudential Financial and Banca Popolare di Bergamo, and the acquisition of Italtel from Telecom Italia. Although Debevoise has operations across Europe, it has yet to add an Italian office to those in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Moscow.
