SJ Berwin advised private investment bank Evans Randall on a novel property deal that saw two major sites bought for £110.1m via a corporate structure. B&Q's major distribution warehouse in Doncaster was bought from Propinvest Holdings for £53.6m, while a Rolls-Royce manufacturing and distribution unit in Glasgow was sold by Glenn Maud for £56.5m. Real estate partner David Ryland led the SJ Berwin team.The vendors were advised by Berwin Leighton Paisner partner Tim Simmonds. The deal was financed by Bank of Scotland, advised by Nick On of Eversheds Newcastle, with mezzanine finance provided by Bomac Properties, advised by Andrew Crabbie of Forsters.
Nabarro Nathanson has acted for the Tattershall Castle Group management team on its £177m acquisition of 178 high street pubs from the Spirit Group. This is the most recent in a line of deals for Nabarros in the pub sector, including acquisitions by Pubmaster followed by its sale to Punch Taverns for £1.2bn and the £335m sale of InnSpired Group.
