Washington DC firm Arnold & Porter is ramping up its high-tech litigation practice with the hire of two senior lawyers.
Michael Songer is joining as a partner from the DC office of Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, where he is a partner, and Robert Jones Worrall is joining as of counsel from Howrey Simon Arnold & White.
They share a focus on complex intellectual property (IP) and technology litigation, with a particular specialism in electronics, which is a growing area for the firm.
Arnold & Porter's head of IP and technology litigation Joel Freed has worked with both lawyers at Howrey Simon Arnold & White. Songer joined Brobeck from there only last year.
Freed says: "We are concentrating our efforts on a number of areas - biotechnology is one area, and sophisticated electronics is another, and these guys help us fill that."
The group already acts for technology giant Intel and is in discussions with Motorola.
