Dawsons’ chic

Thanks are due to the lovely chaps at Dawsons for kindly inviting Tulkinghorn down to the Savoy on Friday (3 March) for a black-tie ball held on the hotel’s black and white ballroom floor.

The event was a fundraiser for Prospex, the community-based charity that works to improve the lives of young people in north King’s Cross. With the help of Dawsons, the charity gathered more than 350 City professionals – not to mention a wine-guzzling legal journo – together for dinner, dancing and the chance to bid for exclusive prizes in the charity auction.

The combination of prizes, which included holidays to Barbados and Florida, Tim Henman’s tennis racket and Rio Ferdinand’s Manchester United shirt (expect to see the latter on eBay quick-sharp, uuuggghhh), plus a raffle run by TV’s Neil Morrisey, helped raise some £30,000.
