Davis Polk corporate chief leaves City for NY
The London-based head of Davis Polk & Wardwell’s corporate group Tom Reid has relocated from the City to New York, The Lawyer can reveal.
Reid has made the move after becoming the first London partner to be elected to the firm’s three-member management committee (The Lawyer,
29 April 2008).
At that time the elite New York firm appointed Reid as chair of its international committee. This was the first time in the firm’s history that a non-US partner had held the role.
A Davis Polk spokesman said Reid had been splitting his time between London and New York for several years, adding: “Now the emphasis has changed in favour of New York.”
Reid became a partner at Davis Polk in 1995 and left the firm in 2000 for a role as managing director in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division. He rejoined the firm in 2003.
