North-west firm Davies Wallis Foyster is boosting its banking and asset finance practice with the appointment of the head of group compliance and legal policy from the Bank of Scotland Group.
Tony Bochenski joins as a partner in the firm's Manchester office where his remit will include handling advisory and transactional work in the sector.
Bochenski joined Capital Bank, now part of the Bank of Scotland Group, in 1984 and in 1996 became the first-ever lawyer on the board while taking over as group solicitor. He became head of group compliance and legal policy last year.
Senior partner Jim Davies says that Capital Bank is a long-standing client of the firm. He adds that Bochenski will help the firm to develop nationwide.
"He's an industry name and he's got an awful lot of experience. Our banking and asset finance team is growing very quickly and he is someone who will help us develop to a national presence."
Davies Wallis Foyster has a finance team of around 15 lawyers, four of whom are partners. Lloyds TSB is another client of the practice.
