The UK has its first Emmy-winning lawyer in the shape of Osborne Clarke’s Phil Alberstat.

The film finance partner picked up his gong last month at the 31st Emmy awards ceremony for his executive producer role on the Gena Rowlands and James Caan flick The Incredible Mrs Ritchie. Since then, aside from minor slips such as admitting to hanging around in the green room with Ellen DeGeneres and going fishing with new best mate Caan, Alberstat has been polishing up his modesty skills and downplaying his new Hollywood credentials.

“My daughter was my date and she looked fab,” Alberstat gushed to Tulkinghorn. “All the paparazzis asked me to step aside, as she’s much better looking than me.” Tulkinghorn could only concur.
