The government has published the results of its call for evidence on a new cyber security standard. It had originally intended to endorse an existing standard but has now decided that the IOS 27000 series which most businesses favoured, does not fully meet the requirements and a new standard will be developed. The intention is for the new profile to be launched in early 2014. The BIS is also looking to develop an assurance framework which will allow organisations to advertise the fact that they have met a set of standards.
