  • I think that Val's views on this topic (and others referenced in this article) broadly reflect the views of the profession.
    It is particularly galling to see cabinet ministers on Question Time and broadcast news treading out the tired Tory mantra that employers are not recruiting because of the fear of being sued. In many years of representing businesses I have never once heard first, second or third hand of a business delaying or declining to increase their number of employees because of the fear of being sued for unfair dismissal.
    Employers are not recruiting due to a lack of demand. Cutting rights is not going to affect this in any way.
