TROUBLED firm Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) is losing its former managing partner Nick Rochez to US giant LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae.Rochez, managing partner between 1987 and 1992, is a key player in thelitigation department, one of three major areas DAC is focusing on afterthe dramatic restructuring exercise in February when 90 staff were axed.Alan Jones, joint managing partner at LeBoeuf with Garry Pegg, refused toconfirm or deny the move.Rochez has been a partner at DAC for 15 years. One source close to DAC says that Rochez fully agreed with DAC'swide-ranging restructure plans.Rochez's clients are understood to include insurance giants Royal & SunAlliance.LeBoeuf's London office has just eight partners. However, the NewYork-based firm has approximately 625 lawyers.Dibb Lupton Alsop head of litigation Neil Micklethwaite says: "Rochez isvery highly regarded in the profession as a litigator and I understand hecontrols some of DAC's bigger clients."The decision to re-engineer their business in the way they did has causeda lot of disquiet.
