DAC hikes real estate offering in City, Madrid

Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) has embarked on a hiring spree as part of a strategic push to expand real estate in London and Madrid.

The newcomers include three property partners and a corporate partner, who will all join the firm’s London office.

Corporate expert Simon Walker has quit Addleshaw Goddard to join DAC’s equity partnership. Stephenson Harwood property associate James Brumwell will also join as a partner. He is experienced in acquisitions, disposals and development work in Spain.

Both arrive as DAC ramps up Spanish real estate following the hire of former Land-well partner Javier De Dios.

The 30-lawyer Madrid office is already rated for its work with London market insurers. However, DAC executive partner Danny Gowan said the firm is seeking to expand the office “so that it becomes more of a reflection of the rest of the practice”.

DAC is also taking on RadcliffesLeBrasseur property partner Reena Patel (see http://www.thelawyer.com/item/109065 for more on Radcliffes) and Taylor Wessing property litigator Caroline Howard.
