DAC Beachcroft is continuing on the acquisition trail with the appointment of three partners, including Eversheds’ local government practice head Judith Barnes.
Barnes has been tasked with growing the firm’s local government group working alongside partner Stephen Hocking, who leads the firm’s public sector practice. She has spent 13 years as a partner with Eversheds.
The firm has also added catastrophic injury specialist Lea Brocklebank, a former president of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL). She will join the firm’s claim solutions team, which also benefited from three new partners in the latest promotions round (26 April 2012).
Meanwhile, Sean Caldwell is to join the firm’s commercial services team in Manchester as a partner from July. Caldwell joins the firm from Hempsons, where he was a consultant and was instrumental in establishing the firm’s Manchester commercial practice. A former Eversheds partner, Caldwell began his career with Clifford Chance. At DAC Beachcroft he will assist partner Robert McGough with the day-to-day management of the firm’s health commercial team in the north of England.
The new appointments come after DAC Beachcroft this month promoted five lawyers to the partnership across its claims solutions, global, and real estate practice groups.
The firm also appointed Zurich Financial Services’ European claims director Bill Paton to help develop its claims unit in April (2 April 2012).
Earlier this year DAC Beachcroft acquired Scottish firm Andersons Solicitors in a deal the firm said would provide a “more comprehensive” service to both firms’ insurer clients (22 April 2012).
DAC Beachcroft managing partner Paul Murray said: “As with our recent promotions, these new partners will help drive strategy and client relationships in key growth areas of the firm. They each bring with them significant knowledge and experience in their chosen field of law and we look forward to working with them.”
