Czech TMT boutique Kines is to establish an international presence with the opening of an office in Silicon Valley in the US.
The Prague-based firm, currently operating out of just one office, hopes to take advantage of the growing interest in investment opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe by using the Silicon Valley office as a representative base.
Stephen Kines, one of the founding partners at Kines and a former Linklaters partner, said: "The Central and Eastern European market is doing very well at the moment and we have developed a strong client base since we opened in 2004. We will use the office in the US to develop out client base."
The firm's clients include IT giant Microsoft, Disney Interactive and news website NewsTin.com.
"We have many Central European clients that have great potential to go to the US - Silicon Valley won't come to them," added Kines. "We'll be able to bring these companies to the US and establish a name in the technology sector outside Europe."
