Czech Republic firm Peterka & Partners has opened an office in Kiev, its second international office, as it looks to expand across Eastern Europe.
The Prague-based firm opened an office in Bratislava in 2001, becoming the first Czech firm to operate in the Slovak Republic.
Peterka has opened with 10 lawyers in Kiev, headed by partners Monika Hoskova and Alexander Poels. The office will specialise in M&A, real estate, corporate and labour law.
Peterka managing partner Ondrej Peterka said: "Coming to Kiev is another step in our foreign expansion. With our team of 60 lawyers and tax advisers, our firm will rank among the most significant firms in Central Europe."
Hoskova said: "By taking this unique step in the Czech legal market, Peterka & Partners is responding to current economic trends and to the needs of both present and future clients whose business activities turn towards Eastern Europe."
