The London practice of Newcastle-based Dickinson Dees has been given a significant boost, with the firm winning a double advisory role for the London Borough of Croydon's regeneration plans.
The London practice of Newcastle-based Dickinson Dees has been given a significant boost, with the firm winning a double advisory role for the London Borough of Croydon's regeneration plans.
The firm is set to advise on ;the ;£70m ;urban regeneration ;of ;New Addington town centre, as well as a project to improve leisure centres across the region. The latter will see a 10-year management contract handed to charitable leisure operator Fusion.
Urban regeneration partner Ian Ward, heading a 10-strong team, said Dickinson Dees won the advisory roles due to its long-term relationship with the borough.
The schemes will draw upon the expertise of the firm's procurement, social housing, property development and planning teams.
Ward said of the New Addington project: "The mixed-use scheme will provide not only the catalyst for rejuvenating the fortunes of the district, but will also help to attract new residents to the area."
Julie Belvir, secretary and solicitor of Croydon Council, said the borough brought on Dickinson Dees for the projects due to the firm's strong expertise in urban regeneration, PFI and PPP.
"The complexities and intricacies of the New Addington scheme, coupled with the strong working relationship already in place, proved a deciding factor in both appointments," said Belvir. "The professional and skilled advice provided cross-departmentally by the firm has proven invaluable in ensuring the long-term success of these two schemes."
