Tunbridge Wells-based Cripps Harries Hall has hired former Barclays director of professional practices William Arthur as a non-executive director.
Arthur's brief at Cripps will include implementing new structures to attract and retain staff, as well as overseeing the development of the firm's future leaders.
Jonathan Denny, managing partner at Cripps, said: "William's appointment as a non-executive director will be beneficial to our broad strategy and his knowledge of the partnership world will help".
Arthur brings with him 30 years of banking experience at Barclays, where he established a standalone US practice.
He was particularly pleased with the commercial approach of the firm and was looking forward to implementing new ideas and perspectives.
Senior partner Michael Stevens was keen to build on the firm's culture of innovation and noted Arthur's knowledge of "the nuances of partnership structures".
