Yet again we have an attack on the success of the CPE which you highlighted in your editorial.
Its graduates have excelled in all areas of the law; it has shown time and again that those who enter via this route perform better in legal examinations, are preferred (in spite of the extra cost of their training) by many top City firms and chambers, and have reached the pinnacle of the legal world in both the Bar and solicitor branches of the profession.
Mr Justice Lightman should really ask what is wrong with some law graduates, not stigmatise his colleagues and the excellence of the CPE.
