US firm Covington & Burling has boosted its employment team in London with a team of lawyers from Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker.
Partner Christopher Walter, who was a counsel at Covington & Burling before joining Paul Hastings to chair its London employment practice, rejoins his old firm as a partner in the five-lawyer European employment team.
He is joined by special counsel Chris Bracebridge and associate Helena Laughrin.
Walter advises clients on HR practice and strategy in the UK and Europe and is an experienced litigator.
“One of the most important things for me was the opportunity to work internationally,” said Walter, who chairs the international committee of the Employment Lawyer Association. He also commented on the firm’s “remarkable stability” in London.
“There’s a strong culture and very collegial approach. The corporate practice has grown since I left too, which throws up great opportunities for me, and the firm’s a world leader in life sciences work, which is something I’m greatly interested in.”
